This all started 15 years ago when I was pregnant with my 3rd son, Wesley. When I was getting my ultrasound see Wesley, the doctors noticed cysts in my kidney. I was then diagnosed with Polycystic Kidney Disease.

15 years later -in the year 2009-, I have 2 options, and only 2 options:

  1. to undergo dialysis.
  2. for my husband to give me one of his kidneys.

My husband has agreed to donate to me one of his kidneys. Tomorrow morning, I will be having a MIBI scan to test my heart to see if it is strong enough to undergo surgery.

For those who are following my blog and for those who will be having a kidney transplant of their own, I wish my recordings will ease your nerves about your own surgery someday. I’ve created this blog so others can learn about how strenous, and also relieving (ironically), having this transplant can be on your body.

The official date of my transplant will be on July 13, 2009.

Later days,

-Sweetmee (june15,2009)
